Paul "steaks" his claim at Hawkstone!

Paul Burton (interviewed above) finished the season as he started it winning not only the competition on the day but claiming the club championship along the way!

Paul got of to a flyer and with six holes played he'd pared four and birdied one leaving him with a staggering 16 points after just five holes. Although Paul faltered a little after that he still managed to finish the front nine with 21 points giving him a massive 5 shot lead with just nine holes to play. This was too much of a gap for his competitors and although Frank Reagan made a late charge it wasn't enough and Paul Burton went on to claim the Club Championship Trophy for 2007!

The nearest the pin went to ted Pugh with a great approach to the demanding par 3 moat hole. Ted tapped in from three feet to claim his two but that wasn't enough to take the two's comp as Leigh Robertson had already made birdie at the opening par 3 3rd hole. The longest drive was claimed by Ian Pugh with a great tee-shot down the par 5 12th hole.

As you well know this was are last event of the summer season and i would just like to thank you all for your commitment to the society. Twelve events were played this year and every time we had a fantastic turnout. I would like give special thanks to ted Pugh (fixture secretary) Mal Reagan (Treasurer) James Barwise (two's money collection) and of course our captain for the year Gary Bennett!

The winter league will soon be on us and for all those interested i will post all our upcoming fixtures as soon as i get them.
