Keswick was the location of our latest competition and it promised to be a great day with 13 players all looking to take on the challenging hillside course.
As it turned out though Our penultimate game didn't go quite as planned and was marred by constant down pours and strong winds throughout!
To give you an idea of how tough conditions were, of the twelve players who completed there rounds, only one would go on to shoot a score in the thirties!
Leigh Robertson (Pictured left) made the most of the poor conditions scoring 30 points and kept his game together whilst others fell by the wayside!
Afterwards Leigh confessed that the key to his impressive round Had been good course management. Leigh stuck to basics and kept the ball in play, not once being tempted to reach for his driver!
The nearest the pin was won by Ian Pugh on the third hole whilst Frank Reagan took the longest drive with an impressive tee-shot down seven!
Are final game of the season will be played at hawkston Park on the 29th of Sept. we look forward to seeing you all there!

I forgot to mention in the write up for Keswick that andy ted and nigel were having there own competition to see who could loose the most golfing items in one round! Nigel lost five balls, Andy lost two clubs but ted went one better on the 4th hole when he lost his entire golf bag! It fell off the golf buggy on the previous hole! Quality! By the way, well done Leigh, great round in that weather!!!!
THANKS IAN
BUT THE BEST COMPETITION OF THE DAY HAPPENED TO BE ON THE 14th GREEN, IT WAS BETWEEN FRANK & DAVID TO SEE HOW MANY 360 TURNS EACH COULD DO! FRANK ONLY MANAGED 1, BUT DAVID TURNED & TURNED & TURNED & TURNED-UNTIL HE COULD TURN NO MORE SO HE BAILED OUT JUST SHORT OF THE TREES!!! SO THAT DAY FOR ME WAS MEMORABLE FOR A COUPLE OF REASONS-CHEERS BOYS
fifty cents will be my abiding memory of keswick
Ted "fiddy" Pugh HAHA! FUNNY!
