and although this years captains day was a great success it seemed a shame to have to leave so early and head for home! Next year we would like to propose a "one off" weekend away with an over night stay and two rounds of golf.
Myself and Paul have been looking at courses on the net in Scotland on the Edinburgh cost line. for instance, North Berwick Glen Links (pictured top left) and Killspinie golf links (pictured bottom right). Both these venues are championship links courses with stunning views of the Edinburgh cost line. The 13th hole at north Berwick glen was voted as one of the most extraordinary holes in Britain by BBC commentator peter Alliss along side the likes of "the Road Hole at St Andrews" and "the Postage Stamp at Royal Troon".
THE FORMAT for the weekend would be to travel up to Scotland on the Saturday morning (3 hour drive) book in to your B&B and play 18 holes later that afternoon. After a good drink, Get up on the Sunday morning and tee-off around 10.30.
Leave on Sunday night at around half five which should mean we will return home around 9pm. (minibuses may be an option)

THE COST for the two rounds of golf and one nights stay B&B in North Berwick would be between 80 and 100 pounds. I personally think this is a bargain when you consider we payed 70 pounds this year to play one round of golf at Mottram hall in Cheshire.
I have published this post to see what you think and get your responce, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR FEEDBACK (positive or negative) PLUS ANY QUESYIONS YOU MAY HAVE IN THE COMMENTS BOX AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST!

links golf sounds like a great idea. would be better if we could get minibuses though!
myself and ted think this is a good chance to play some great courses for such a cheap price. I'll drag up some more info on the courses for the presentation night at the end of the year! should be a good crack though!
i think it is a great idea myself, as i dearly missed this years captains day, & with havin are very own 'meals on wheels' as captain i think it would be good.
also when talking to ian he mentioned @ every game maybe a savings account for everyone then next year it doesnt mean handing over £100 in one lump sum!
i think its a great idea & would defo go there
steve sut sounds like a great idea count me in

There will be a special captains day prize for the best packed lunch. Bet I win it.
