Birrell makes it two in a row!

Our latest competition was held at the long and demanding course of Brackenwood. 16 players turned up in rainy conditions all hoping to take top spot.

Steve Sutton was one of the first to finish posting an impressive 35 points and it could of been more as he failed to add to his tally on the 18th hole!

This left an opportunity for Steve Birrell (pictured left with his lucky socks on!) who needed a par down the last to win the competition out right.

After hitting an impressive long drive Steve left his second shot short and could only chip on and two putt for his bogey . This meant for the 6th time this season the leaders were tied and day would be decided with a card count back!
On this occasion Steve Birrell had posted one more point than his opponent Steve Sutton and went on to win by the slightest of margins! "Unlucky Steve, Still a great round in such bad conditions"

The nearest the pin on the day was won by Paul Burton on the 197 yard par 3 6th hole whilst Steve Birrell took the longest drive with a great tee-shot down 18. The two's comp was shared for the second time running with "surprise, surprise" Ste Birrell and Ste Sutton taking a share of the spoils!

I would like to Thank everyone for a great turnout and we hope to see you all at keswick on the 16th of September.

i would also like to point the finger at leigh (THE BANDIT) who seems to think shooting high scores and gettting a higher handicap is a good thing. we should sort these bandit tactics out before he cleans up and wins everything next year! WHO DO YOU THINK YOUR KIDDING LEIGH! BANDITO!
