James Barwise (pictured left) opened up the winter league season with a narrow victory over Chris Hallam to win by one shot at Brackenwood.James recorded his highest score of the 2008 season with a fantastic 43 points.
Apart from a few temporary greens the course held up well until a few players decided to try and kill each other on the back nine!
First Frank was struck on the hand by a stray ball, not to be out done Leigh tried to decapitate Gary Bennett but aimed too low and only managed to strike him on the arm (Better luck next time).
Conditions considered i think a good day was had by all.
