The proceedings began at chirk with texas scramble on the challenging par 3 course and it seemed quite fitting that Ted Steve and James (pictured top left) would go on to claim victory with all 14 other competitors watching on from the back of the 9th green. The trio finished with a fantastic 2 under par, however the biggest cheer was reserved for Colin Barwise as he rolled in a 10 foot putt to save par for his group.
The players resumed play after dinner with 18 holes stableford on the championship course.
James and Andy were first out and completed there round in under 3 hours so decided to celebrate with several pints and and shots at the bar.
The day was won by Ian Pugh (pictured bottom left) with a solid round of 37 points he managed to hold off championship leader Tony Southern to claim victory by two clear shots.
The highlight of ian's round came at the par 3 8th hole were a great approach shot was good enough to claim the nearest the pin prize.
The longest drive was won by Leigh Robertson with a great tee shot down the par 5 10th hole.
The usual suspects were joined by two guests today with Peter's guest Freddy and mark drummond taking part for the first time. We hope to see more of them in the future.
