Gary Bennett (pictured Left) just pipped Leigh Robertson to the finish line on sunday with the closest of countback victorys.After 18 holes nothing could separate the pair having both shot a respectable 31 points a peice on a windy day at bowring park.
After a tence count back leigh conceded the game by just one stroke!
In a post match interview leigh was gracious in defeat adding" That Bennett's a F***ing Jammy F**ker, I can't beleive i lost by one F***ing point!".
There were a few absentees as are new captain (Flirtin) paul Burton had "bird flew" and Mally (the preist) Reagan was attending his 18th Christening of the year.
Apart from that, the weather stayed dry and by all accounts the seven lads who braved the wind had a great day. I would also like to welcome Peter Preston to the Phoenix and wish him all the best in the new season.
