Gary Bennet (pictured left WITH HAIR!) took his first title of the season on Sunday with a count back victory over Paul Burton and Frank Reagan at Carus Green golf club in Kendal. The day itself was again very close with only two shots separating the first six golfers. Gary, Paul and Frank all finished with 34 points whilst Ian, James and Ted were just one shot back on 33. Trevor was a further 13 shots back and failed to make a late charge. (sorry Trev). The icing on the cake for Gary came on the last three holes as he came back from two down to beat Paul Burton in the knock-out cup with an emphatic birdie on the 18th hole. Gary commented afterwards "BANGERS AND MASH"
The nearest the pin and twos comp were clinched by Ian Pugh with a great approach to the par 3 11th hole whilst Frank Reagen won the longest drive as he took the dog-leg out of play with a fantastic shot on the par 5 seventh.
Our best turnout yet saw 15 members attend on a baking hot day in the lake district and I'm sure you'll all agree that the golf course couldn't of been more fitting.
By the way I'd just like to say welcome back to Chris Hallam! Chris has been unable to attend the last few games due to back trouble or was he just to scared to face ted in the cup?
