Derek win's it, at high scoring Arrowe Park

Derek Bell (pictured left) won the second event of the season at Arrowe Park today with an impressive 41 points in total. Derek's round was set up nicely with 4 pars in his first 8 holes to take him to 21 points at the turn. He picked up a further 20 points on the back nine to win by one from Trevor Griffith who was unlucky to finish second with a fantastic round of 40 points. Leigh Robertson took the nearest the pin trophy at the difficult par 3 13th hole hitting a great approach to within five feet of the flag. this was Leigh and Steve Sutton's first game for the society. Well done Leigh! The par 5 10th hole was the longest drive trophy which was narrowly won by Ian Pugh who just pipped Paul Burton. The day itself was very high scoring with six of the eleven players hitting above 36 points. Our next fixture is at Ingol G.C. in Preston, we hope to see you all there! Please could you contact Ted Pugh if you wish to attend, thanks.
